Safe Systems of Work on High-Risk Sites
Prior to any works commencing, NQIS undertakes a site-specific risk assessment and prepares detailed Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS). These documents consider access, plant interfaces, confined spaces, working at height, material risks and live operational hazards.
Our safety management approach includes:
- Site-specific risk assessment and RAMS
- Competent, fully trained operatives with relevant industry certifications
- Planned inspection, servicing and maintenance of all equipment
- Use of appropriate PPE and high-visibility clothing at all times
- Supply of all specialist equipment required to safely operate vacuum tankers and ancillary systems
- LOTO / LOTOTO procedures, including isolation of plant and equipment prior to work
- Active site monitoring and auditing, with Health and Safety personnel carrying out operational audits during live works

Training, Competence & Accreditations
All NQIS vacuum tanker operations are delivered by trained, competent personnel suitable for working in quarrying and industrial environments.
Relevant training and certifications include:
- Quarry Safety Passport (NPORS, SPA or CSCS)
- Class 1 and Class 2 HGV driving licences
- Confined Space Training (medium risk)
- Working at Height certification
- IPAF certification for powered access equipment
